The Chelsea 281GMFJW-B5RS or 281GMFJWB5RS is a 281 Series Power Take-Off designed for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison and Caterpillar transmissions. It uses hydraulic (PowerShift) engagement for hot-shift operation and supports continuous duty use. The 281 Series improves on the proven 280 Series platform with a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap to improve clamp load, and an 80% thicker clutch pack to resist premature tooth wear. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high speed applications. Rotatable, cast-iron flanges reduce interference fit issues, and a Wet Spline Lubrication option extends shaft life 7 to 10 times compared to dry configurations.
