The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GSFJP-B5BA or 281GSFJPB5BA, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO engineered for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison and Caterpillar units. As an evolution of the 280 Series, the 281 brings a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap for improved clamp load, and clutch pack steel discs 80% thicker to resist premature tooth wear. Nine speed ratios span low and high ranges. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce interference clearance issues, and a Wet Spline Lubrication option extends shaft life by 7 to 10 times.
