The Chelsea 281GSFJP-B8RY or 281GSFJPB8RY is a 281 Series hydraulically shifted hot-shift power take-off built for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, commonly fitted to Allison and Caterpillar transmissions. The 281 Series is an evolution of the Chelsea 280 Series, carrying forward a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron and an upgraded clutch pack with steel discs 80% thicker than the previous design. An O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load and reduces vibrational stress from modern engine designs. Nine speed ratios cover low through high range. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce pump clearance interference, and a Positive Stop on driveline outputs eliminates oil seal damage from coupling.
