The Chelsea 282 Series PTO Assembly, part number 282GBAJX-13BD or 282GBAJX13BD, is a medium-duty hot-shift power take-off designed for demanding mobile equipment applications including aerial, towing and recovery, construction, water trucks, and fuel oil delivery. It mounts via an 8-bolt pattern and is compatible with Allison, Eaton/Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and other transmission types. Shift is pneumatic or PowerShift (pneumatic/hydraulic). The output shaft is a 1-1/4" round shaft with a 5/16" key. Continuous torque capability reaches 300 lb-ft (407 Nm); intermittent torque is rated at 201-300 lb-ft (401-500 Nm). The result is nine available speed ratios, 18 shift options, and the most popular direct-mount and driveshaft output configurations in the segment. Direct-mount versions offer an optional wet-spline design to extend both PTO and pump shaft life. Driveshaft output versions include a positive stop to prevent seal damage from driveshaft yokes.
