The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the transmission opening without an adapter plate, reducing potential leak paths. Intermittent torque capacity for the 489 Series is 201-300 lb-ft (301-400 Nm), with shaft power rated at 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1000 RPM. The output shaft is a 1-1/4" round with keyway. Wire/cable mechanical shift is standard on this configuration. Strong tapered bearings replace needle bearings for greater load-bearing capability.
