The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 489XHITX-A3GH or 489XHITXA3GH, is an 8-bolt PTO designed for manual transmissions including Eaton Fuller, Mack, and Tremec. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the 8-bolt transmission opening, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. Shift is wire/cable mechanical. The output shaft is a 1-1/4" round with keyway. Intermittent torque rating for the 489 Series is 201-300 lb-ft (301-400 Nm), matching the capacity of Chelsea's 442 Series. Shaft power output is 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. Typical applications include utility trucks, dump trucks, aerial equipment, and snow and ice removal vehicles.
