The Chelsea 489XLAHX-S3XD or 489XLAHXS3XD is a 489 Series Power Take-Off assembly designed for manual transmissions with an 8-bolt PTO mounting opening, including Eaton Fuller, Mack, and Tremec applications. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the 8-bolt transmission aperture, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. Shift type is wire/cable mechanical. The output shaft is a 1-1/4" round shaft with keyway. Intermittent torque capacity for the 489 Series is 250 lb-ft (339 Nm); shaft power is rated at 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. Tapered bearings replace needle bearings for greater load-bearing capability. Continuous torque is de-rated 30% from the intermittent rating.
