The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 489XSEVX-A5SQ or 489XSEVXA5SQ, mounts directly to the 8-bolt transmission opening on most manual transmissions including Eaton/Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and Tremec applications. The one-piece cast iron housing eliminates the adapter plate needed on some earlier designs, removing a potential leak path. Output is through a 1-1/4" round shaft with key, driven by a wire/cable mechanical shift mechanism. The 489 Series delivers the same intermittent torque capacity as the 442 Series at 250 lb-ft (339 Nm), with shaft power rated at 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. Strong tapered bearings replace needle bearings for greater load capacity. Internal parts are common with the 442 Series, simplifying rebuild stock.
