The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off, part number 489XWDUX-A3XK or 489XWDUXA3XK, is an 8-bolt PTO assembly designed for manual transmissions including Eaton Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and Tremec applications. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the 8-bolt transmission opening, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and removing a common leak path. This unit uses an air shift and features an SAE B 2 or 4-bolt flange with a 7/8" 13-tooth SAE B shaft. Shaft power is rated at 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM, with an intermittent torque rating in the 201-300 lb-ft range. Tapered bearings replace needle bearings for added load capacity.
