The one-piece cast iron housing eliminates the need for an adapter plate, reducing potential leak paths. Shift is wire/cable mechanical, and the output shaft is a 1-1/4" round with keyway. The 489 Series carries the same intermittent torque capacity as the 442 Series at 250 lb-ft (339 Nm), with shaft power rated at 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM.
