The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 489ZSDAX-A3XK or 489ZSDAXA3XK, mounts directly to an 8-bolt transmission opening on most manual transmissions including Eaton Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and Tremec applications. The one-piece cast iron housing eliminates the adapter plate required on earlier designs, removing a potential leak path. Wire/cable mechanical shift is standard on this unit. Output is through a 1-1/4" round shaft with keyway, and the 489 Series carries the same intermittent torque rating as the 442 Series at 250 lb-ft. Shaft power is rated at 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. Internal parts share commonality with the 442 Series, making bench service straightforward.
