The Chelsea 878 Series Power Take-Off, part number 878XGKVP-M5RF or 878XGKVPM5RF, is a constant mesh PTO built to mount on Allison and CAT 10-bolt transmissions. Designed as an evolution of the 877 Series, the 878 delivers the highest torque capability in its package class, with the series rated up to 670 lb-ft in both continuous and intermittent duty applications. The ductile iron bearing cap is 117% stronger than gray iron, and steel disc thickness within the clutch pack has been increased by 80% over the predecessor design. An o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap reduces vibrational effects and improves clamp load. The 878 Series offers nine speed ratios covering low and high speeds, a wet spline lubrication option that extends shaft life 7 to 10 times, and rotatable cast-iron flanges that reduce interference clearance issues.
