The Chelsea 897 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 897RHFJW-M5XY or 897RHFJWM5XY, is a constant-engagement (constant mesh) PTO engineered specifically for Allison 3000 and 4000 Series transmissions. It mounts via a 10-bolt pattern and positions the SAE C output flange at the rear of the transmission, moving the pump interface rearward so the housing and gear section tuck tightly against the transmission for improved pump clearance. The one-piece main shaft eliminates the input splines between the PTO body and the output extension, and Wet Spline technology is built in to extend pump shaft life in demanding service. Continuous torque is rated up to 670 ft-lb; output power reaches 128 HP at 1,000 RPM. Typical applications include aerial trucks, fire and rescue, refuse trucks, and truck cranes.
