The Chelsea 897XAFJW-M5XS or 897XAFJWM5XS is a constant-engagement (constant mesh) power take-off assembly built for Allison 3000 and 4000 Series transmissions. It mounts via a 10-bolt pattern and positions the SAE C flange output at the rear of the transmission, moving the pump interface rearward to improve clearance between the pump and the frame rail. A one-piece main shaft eliminates the inter-unit input splines found on PTO-plus-extension configurations. The wet-spline output lubricates the shaft interface under load, extending PTO and pump shaft service life. Continuous torque is rated at 670 lb-ft (908 Nm); intermittent torque exceeds 501 lb-ft.
