The Chelsea 379604-2 or 3796042 is a 24 volt solenoid valve for Chelsea PTO units. Our factory parts list carries it as the Solenoid Valve (24 Volt) in the Chelsea PTO 276 Series, 277 Series and 278 Series.
The solenoid is the electrical switch for the PTO: when the cab switch signals it, the coil moves the valve and directs fluid so the unit engages. A failing valve shows up as a PTO that will not engage, stays engaged, or responds slowly. Check the wiring and switch first, since the circuit can be at fault as often as the valve.
