Fabco retaining ring 762-0327 is the sun gear snap ring, an external ring in the 2.000 in. size. The TC 142-PD parts list carries it at item 458, one per assembly, and the exploded view for the 26/74 lower shaft puts it right at the 22 tooth sun gear on the lower inner shaft, beside the 62 tooth internal gear of the planetary set. Our TC 140 and TC 141 books carry the same number under the same sun gear snap ring name. It is a small part holding an expensive one in place.
