Meritor 2214U1269 adjusting ring for the differential bearing, a genuine Meritor drive axle part. The factory parts list carries it in the 160/161/164 Series, RD-23-160, RT-40-160, RT-46-160 and RT-46-164EH drive axles, and in the 180/185/186 & 380 Series drive axle. In the 160/161/164 Series carriers it is item 133 for single axles and the rears of tandem axles, and item 54, two per assembly, in forward tandem carriers. An adjusting ring bears on the differential case bearing, so turning it sets how tightly the bearing is loaded and helps set the lash between ring gear and pinion. If that setting is off, the case can move and the gears get noisy, and a setting that is too tight runs the bearings hot. Call us to confirm proper fit for your application.
