The Muncie SH8B-U6809-A3KX or SH8BU6809A3KX is an air-shift-only power take-off from Muncie's SH8 Series, designed to handle high-torque applications that fall between the TG and 82 Series in output demand. The integral air shift design keeps the air cylinder enclosed within the housing, eliminating an exposed external cylinder. The 8-bolt cast iron housing bolts up cleanly to the transmission, and 17 available input gear sets cover most popular transmission configurations. Five speed ratios are available, and torque ratings vary by ratio: the 05 and 07 speed ratios deliver up to 400 ft-lb intermittent and 280 ft-lb continuous torque at 1,000 RPM, while the 09 ratio is rated at 375 ft-lb intermittent and 263 ft-lb continuous.
