Permatex 81182 is a 3 oz. Gear Oil RTV Gasket Maker engineered specifically for the harsh gear oil environment inside differentials and transfer cases. Standard gear oils contain friction modifiers that break down ordinary RTV silicone and cause leaks. This specialty silicone is tested to OEM specifications to resist those additives and maintain a complete seal. Used as a gasket maker, it conforms to mating surfaces and fills leak paths that pre-cut gaskets can miss. It can also be applied over cut gaskets as a supplemental sealant.
