Meritor E8948-R or E8948R right hand wheel stud, sold as a 5 pack. It is a serrated, shoulder-type stud with a round collar, 3/4-16 right hand threads and an overall length of 4 7/8 in. The serrated section is 0.50 in. long and the hub end thread length is 1 7/16 in.
The stud works like a heavy-duty spring: tightening the nut stretches it, and that tension is the clamping force that holds the wheel against the hub. Watch for necking, galled threads or a nut that will not spin on freely, and replace every stud and nut at a wheel position if one fails. A genuine Meritor part from Pro Gear and Transmission.
