The Chelsea 878XBFJP-M5RF is a constant mesh Power Take-Off from the Chelsea 878 Series, engineered to mount on Allison 10-bolt transmissions. The 878 Series carries a single continuous-duty torque rating of up to 670 lb-ft, the highest torque output available in this compact package. Its ductile iron bearing cap is 117% stronger than gray iron, and an o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load. Steel disc thickness within the clutch pack has been increased by 80% compared to the predecessor 877 Series. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high speed applications. The 878 Series is an evolution of Chelsea's 877 Series PTO. Markets served include snow and ice, vacuum, aerial, and refuse applications. Wet Spline lubrication option provides 7 to 10 times greater shaft life compared to standard pressure lube configurations. Rotatable cast iron flanges reduce interference and clearance issues. A positive-stop feature on driveline outputs eliminates oil seal damage from coupling contact.
