The Chelsea 272KCJKX-A5XD or 272KCJKXA5XD is a 272 Series hot-shift, 6-bolt power take-off designed for medium-duty applications across towing and recovery, aerial, construction, and water truck work. It mounts to transmissions from Allison, Eaton/Fuller, Ford, Aisin, Volvo/Mack, and RAM platforms. The output shaft is a 1-1/4" round shaft with a 5/16" key. Shift is pneumatic or PowerShift (pneumatic/hydraulic), with an integral air control valve included. The 272 Series consolidates and replaces the earlier Chelsea 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271 series into a single medium-duty hot-shift platform. It offers nine speed ratios, eighteen shift options, and supports both direct-mount and driveshaft output configurations. Direct-mount configurations include an optional Wet-Spline design for extended PTO and pump shaft service life. Driveshaft output models can be equipped with Chelsea's Smart-Start feature, intended for high-torque start-up conditions. Rotatable flanges provide mounting flexibility across a range of chassis installations.
