The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off, part number 489XLAHX-H3XY or 489XLAHXH3XY, is an 8-bolt mechanical-shift PTO designed for most manual transmissions including Eaton Fuller, Eaton Endurant, Mack, and Tremec. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the 8-bolt transmission opening, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. Output is through a 1-1/4" round keyed shaft. The 489 Series delivers intermittent torque capacity of 201 to 300 lb-ft and shaft power of 24 HP at 500 RPM or 48 HP at 1000 RPM. Internal parts are common to the Chelsea 442 Series. Common applications include utility trucks, dump trucks, snow and ice removal equipment, and fire and rescue vehicles.
