The integral 8-bolt cast iron housing bolts directly to the transmission opening, eliminating the need for a separate adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. This unit uses tapered bearings rather than needle bearings for greater load-bearing capability. The 489 Series shifts via wire/cable mechanical actuation and delivers up to 201-300 lb-ft intermittent torque. Output is a 1-1/4" round keyed shaft.
