The Chelsea 890FDFJW-B5XS or 890FDFJWB5XS is a hydraulic PowerShift power take-off built for Allison 3000 MD and 4000 HD series transmissions. The 890 Series mounts with a 10-bolt pattern and positions the pump output to the rear of the transmission, improving clearance without adding an extension piece. The main shaft is one piece, eliminating the input splines between the PTO and the output extension. Output is an SAE C ("XS") flange with Wet Spline technology to extend pump shaft life in demanding duty cycles. The Chelsea 890 Series mounts like a standard side-mounted PTO but includes an additional bracket at the rear of the transmission for added support. Unlike a PTO-plus-extension arrangement, the 890 is a single unit with a one-piece shaft, which removes the intermediate input splines and places the clutch at the rear of the housing. This lets the gear section tuck tightly against the transmission, freeing space for the pump. The unit can be ordered for transmissions equipped with or without a cooler, a retarder, or both.
