The Chelsea 897CAFJW-M3XV or 897CAFJWM3XV is a constant-engagement (constant mesh) power take-off engineered for Allison 3000 and 4000 Series transmissions. It mounts via a 10-bolt pattern and positions the pump output to the rear of the transmission, giving the housing room to tuck tightly against the transmission and frame rail without a separate extension tube. The main shaft is one piece, eliminating the input splines between the PTO body and the output. Output is an SAE C flange with a wet-spline interface that reduces wear on the pump shaft in demanding duty cycles. Continuous-duty torque reaches 670 ft-lb (908 Nm); intermittent torque is rated at 501+ ft-lb. Shaft power at 1,000 RPM is 128 HP. Common applications include aerial trucks, fire and rescue, refuse trucks, and truck cranes.
