The Chelsea 272FPLLP-K8XD or 272FPLLPK8XD is a 272 Series hot-shift power take-off assembly built on a 6-bolt mount. The 1-1/4" round output shaft uses a 5/16" key and supports 56+ HP of output power. Shift is pneumatic or PowerShift (pneumatic/hydraulic), and the unit carries a continuous torque rating of 300 lb-ft (407 Nm) with intermittent torque up to 300 lb-ft (401-500 Nm range for the series). The 272 Series consolidates several earlier Chelsea PTO lines and is designed for aerial, construction, towing and recovery, and water truck applications. The Chelsea 272 Series consolidates and replaces the earlier 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271 Series medium-duty hot-shift PTO lines. The series features rotatable flanges, an integral air control valve, and an optional Wet-Spline design for extended PTO and pump shaft service life. A Smart-Start option is available for high-torque start-up conditions. Nine speed ratios and 18 shift configurations are offered across the 272 Series, supporting direct-mount and driveshaft output arrangements.
