The Chelsea 272 Series was developed to replace and consolidate several earlier Chelsea medium-duty PTO series: the 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271. The 272 offers 9 speed ratios and 18 shift configurations, making it one of the most flexible 6-bolt PTOs available for medium-duty vocational trucks. Direct-mount output options include an optional Wet-Spline feature for extended PTO and pump shaft service life. Driveshaft output configurations are available with the Smart-Start option, which is designed for high-torque start-up conditions.
