The Chelsea 272MBAJP-G3XD or 272MBAJPG3XD is a 272 Series 6-bolt hot-shift power take-off assembly built for medium-duty applications. It uses a pneumatic or PowerShift (pneumatic/hydraulic) engagement system and mounts with a 6-bolt pattern compatible with transmissions from Allison, Eaton/Fuller, Ford, Aisin, Volvo/Mack, and RAM, among others. The output is a 1-1/4" round shaft with a 5/16" key. Intermittent torque rating runs 201-300 lb-ft (401-500 Nm), and the 272 Series is rated for continuous-duty torque up to 300 lb-ft, with actual ratings confirmed per application. The Chelsea 272 Series consolidates six prior PTO series, the 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271, into a single platform. The 272 Series offers nine speed ratios and eighteen shift options, covering the most common direct-mount and driveshaft output configurations. Direct-mount variants are available with optional Wet-Spline technology to extend PTO and pump shaft service life. Driveshaft output configurations can include the Smart-Start feature, designed for high-torque start-up conditions where engagement loads are demanding.
