The Chelsea 272 Series PTO Assembly, part number 272NCHVP-G3XD or 272NCHVPG3XD, is a 6-bolt hot shift power take-off designed for medium-duty truck applications including aerial, towing and recovery, construction equipment, and water trucks. The Chelsea 272 Series was developed to consolidate several earlier medium-duty Chelsea PTO lines - the 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271 - into a single platform with nine available speed ratios and eighteen shift configurations. The series supports both direct-mount and driveshaft output arrangements. Direct-mount configurations can be ordered with the optional Wet-Spline feature for extended service life on the PTO and pump shaft. Driveshaft output configurations are available with the Smart-Start option, which manages engagement under high-torque start-up conditions. Flanges on the 272 Series are rotatable, offering installation flexibility. The series is suited for aerial, towing and recovery, construction equipment, and water truck applications.
