The Chelsea 272 Series PTO assembly, part number 272XAAJP-H5RY or 272XAAJPH5RY, is a 6-bolt hot shift power take-off built for medium-duty work cycles. Part of Chelsea's redesigned 272 Series, it consolidates and replaces the earlier 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271 Series PTOs into a single versatile unit. The 272 Series supports intermittent torque up to 300 lb-ft and continuous-duty torque ratings (derated 30% per application). Shift options span hydraulic and pneumatic/air shift configurations, with an integral air control valve included. Output shaft options within the series include round shaft with 1-inch key or 1-1/4-inch key. The Chelsea 272 Series was engineered to consolidate six earlier Chelsea PTO series into one platform, giving fleets and service shops a single go-to medium-duty hot shift PTO. The 272 Series offers nine speed ratios and eighteen shift options across direct-mount and driveshaft output configurations. Direct-mount versions are available with optional Wet-Spline technology for extended PTO and pump shaft service life. Driveshaft output versions can include the Smart-Start feature, designed for high-torque start-up conditions common in towing, recovery, and aerial work.
