The Chelsea 272 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 272XADAX-A5BD or 272XADAXA5BD, is a 6-bolt hot-shift PTO designed for medium-duty applications across towing and recovery, aerial, construction, and water truck equipment. It shifts via pneumatic (air) or hydraulic PowerShift and mounts with a 6-bolt flange to transmissions from Allison, Eaton/Fuller, Ford, Aisin, Volvo/Mack, RAM, and others. The output shaft is a 1-1/4" round shaft with a 5/16" key. Continuous torque capacity for the 272 Series reaches 300 lb-ft (407 Nm); intermittent torque is rated at 201-300 lb-ft (401-500 Nm). Shaft power output is rated at 29 HP at 500 RPM and 57 HP at 1,000 RPM. The 272 Series consolidates the older 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271 Series into one platform, offering nine speed ratios and 18 shift options.
