The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GCFJP-B8RY or 281GCFJPB8RY, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO designed for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison and Caterpillar applications. The 281 Series is an evolution of the Chelsea 280 Series and carries a continuous torque rating of 390 lb-ft (529 Nm). Its ductile iron bearing cap is 117% stronger than gray iron, and an o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load and reduces vibration-related wear. The clutch pack features 80% thicker steel discs compared to the predecessor, resisting premature tooth wear. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high ranges. Optional Wet Spline Lubrication delivers 7 to 10 times greater shaft life. Available output types include SAE B and SAE C pump flanges, ISO 7652 flange, and driveline configurations.
