The Chelsea 281GCFJP-B8SD or 281GCFJPB8SD is a hydraulically shifted (PowerShift) Power Take-Off from the Chelsea 281 Series, designed for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison and Caterpillar applications. It supports continuous duty operation and delivers nine speed ratios covering both low and high speed ranges. The ductile iron bearing cap is 117% stronger than gray iron, and an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load while reducing vibration effects. Steel discs within the clutch pack are 80% thicker than the predecessor 280 Series for reduced tooth wear. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce interference clearance issues, and a Positive Stop on driveline outputs eliminates oil seal damage.
