The Chelsea 281GCFJP-D3RS or 281GCFJPD3RS is a 281 Series Power Take-Off Assembly designed for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison and Caterpillar transmissions. It uses hydraulic (PowerShift) engagement for hot-shift operation and covers nine speed ratios spanning both low and high ranges. The bearing cap is ductile iron, rated 117% stronger than gray iron, and the clutch pack features steel discs 80% thicker than the previous 280 Series design. An o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap reduces vibrational effects and improves clamp load. Rotatable cast-iron flanges cut interference issues at pump mounting, and a positive stop on driveline outputs prevents oil seal damage from coupling.
