The Chelsea 281GCFJW-B5RS or 281GCFJWB5RS is a PowerShift (hydraulically shifted) Power Take-Off from the Chelsea 281 Series, designed for 10-bolt aperture automatic transmissions including Allison applications. It delivers a single, continuous duty torque rating up to 390 lb-ft (529 Nm) and offers nine speed ratios spanning low and high ranges. The ductile iron bearing cap is 117% stronger than gray iron, and an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load and resists vibrational damage. The clutch pack uses steel disks that are 80% thicker than the predecessor 280 Series to resist premature tooth wear. A Wet Spline lubrication option provides 7 to 10 times greater shaft life, and SmartStart reduces shock load at engagement. Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) protects driven equipment.
