The Chelsea 281GCFJW-B8RF or 281GCFJWB8RF is a 281 Series hydraulically shifted hot-shift Power Take-Off built for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, commonly found on Allison installations. As an evolution of the 280 Series, the 281 Series adds a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap to improve clamp load, and clutch pack steel discs 80% thicker than the previous generation. The unit supports continuous operation, offers nine speed ratios spanning low and high ranges, and includes a Wet Spline Lubrication option that can extend shaft life 7 to 10 times. Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) and SmartStart technology are part of the series design. Typical markets include fire and rescue, refuse, truck cranes, and pumper-cleaner applications.
