The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GDFJP-B3BV or 281GDFJPB3BV, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO engineered for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, commonly fitted to Allison transmissions. The 281 Series carries a continuous torque rating of 390 lb-ft and delivers nine speed ratios covering both low and high ranges. It builds directly on the 280 Series platform with several targeted upgrades: a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap to improve clamp load, and an 80% thicker clutch-pack steel disk stack to resist premature tooth wear. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce interference clearance issues, and a Positive Stop for driveline outputs eliminates oil seal damage from coupling.
