The Chelsea 281GDFJP-D5AC or 281GDFJPD5AC is a 281 Series Power Take-Off Assembly built for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison and Caterpillar applications. It uses hydraulic PowerShift (hot-shift) engagement and is rated for continuous operation at up to 390 lb-ft of continuous torque. The 281 Series is an evolution of the 280 Series, adding a ductile iron bearing cap that is 117% stronger than gray iron, an o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap for improved clamp load, and an 80% thicker clutch-pack steel disc for reduced premature tooth wear. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high ranges. The optional Wet Spline Lubrication configuration delivers 7 to 10 times greater shaft life. Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) and SmartStart are included features for equipment protection and reduced start-up shock.
