The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 281GDFJP-E5BD or 281GDFJPE5BD, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO built for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, commonly fitted to Allison transmissions. This is an evolution of the 280 Series, carrying a series continuous torque rating up to 390 lb-ft. The ductile iron bearing cap is 117% stronger than gray iron, and the clutch pack features steel discs that are 80% thicker than the predecessor design to resist premature tooth wear. An o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load and reduces vibrational effects. Nine speed ratios cover both low- and high-speed applications.
