281GDKVP-B5RS Chelsea PTO Assembly

The Chelsea 281GDKVP-B5RS or 281GDKVPB5RS is a hydraulically shifted, hot-shift Power Take-Off from the Chelsea 281 Series, engineered for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison and Caterpillar transmissions. The 281 Series is an evolution of the proven 280 Series, carrying nine speed ratios that span both low and high ranges. A ductile iron bearing cap rates 117% stronger than gray iron, and an o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load while reducing vibrational effects from modern engine designs. The clutch pack steel discs are 80% thicker than the predecessor unit, resisting premature tooth wear. Rotatable cast iron flanges reduce pump clearance interference, and the Positive Stop feature for driveline outputs eliminates oil seal damage at coupling. The Wet Spline Lubrication option delivers 7 to 10 times greater shaft life, and the optional SmartStart feature reduces shock load at engagement.
