The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GGFJW-D3RF or 281GGFJWD3RF, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO designed for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, commonly found on Allison transmissions. An evolution of the 280 Series, it introduces a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap for improved clamp load, and an enhanced clutch pack with steel discs 80% thicker than the previous design. Nine speed ratios span both low and high ranges. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce interference with pump installations, and a Wet Spline Lubrication option extends shaft life by 7 to 10 times. Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) protects downstream driven equipment. Common markets include fire and rescue, refuse, truck cranes, and pumper-cleaner applications.
