The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 281GPFJP-B5BD or 281GPFJPB5BD, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO designed for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison and Caterpillar units. An evolution of the 280 Series, the 281 upgrades to a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap for improved clamp load, and clutch pack steel discs that are 80% thicker to resist premature tooth wear. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high ranges. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce interference clearance issues, and a Positive Stop feature eliminates oil seal damage on driveline outputs.
