The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GPFJP-D8RS or 281GPFJPD8RS, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO designed for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, most commonly Allison and Caterpillar units. The 281 Series is an evolution of the 280 Series, built around a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap, and an enhanced clutch pack with 80% thicker steel discs to resist premature tooth wear. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high range. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce interference during pump installation. A Wet Spline Lubrication option extends shaft life by 7 to 10 times compared to dry spline designs. The 281 Series carries a single, continuous duty torque rating of 390 lb-ft.
