The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GTFJP-B3XV or 281GTFJPB3XV, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO engineered for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison and Caterpillar units. It delivers nine speed ratios spanning low and high ranges, with a continuous duty torque rating of 390 lb-ft (529 Nm) at the series level. The ductile iron bearing cap is 117% stronger than gray iron, and the clutch pack uses steel disks 80% thicker than the predecessor 280 Series to resist premature tooth wear. An O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load and reduces vibration. Output options include SAE B and SAE C pump flanges, ISO 7652 pump flange, and driveline. The wet spline lubrication option extends shaft life 7 to 10 times.
