The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GTFJP-B8SD or 281GTFJPB8SD, is a hydraulically shifted (PowerShift) hot-shift PTO built for 10-bolt aperture automatic transmissions, including Allison applications. An evolution of the Chelsea 280 Series, the 281 carries a single continuous duty torque rating and offers nine speed ratios spanning both low and high ranges. The ductile iron bearing cap is 117% stronger than gray iron, and an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load while countering vibrational effects from modern engine designs. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce interference fitment issues, and the wet spline lubrication option extends shaft life by 7 to 10 times.
