The Chelsea 282 Series PTO Assembly, part number 282XDDAX-A5XD or 282XDDAXA5XD, is a medium-duty hot-shift power take-off rated for continuous torque up to 300 lb-ft (407 Nm) and intermittent torque in the 201-300 lb-ft range. It mounts via an 8-bolt pattern and is compatible with Allison, Eaton/Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and other transmission manufacturers. The output shaft is a 1-1/4" round shaft with a 5/16" key. Shift options include pneumatic and PowerShift (pneumatic/hydraulic). Shaft power output is rated at 29 HP at 500 RPM and 57 HP at 1,000 RPM. The series offers 9 speed ratios and 18 shift options. Direct-mount outputs feature an optional Wet-Spline design to extend PTO and pump shaft service life. Driveshaft outputs include a positive stop to prevent seal damage from driveshaft yokes. Typical applications include aerial lifts, construction equipment, towing and recovery vehicles, water trucks, and fuel oil delivery trucks.
