The Chelsea 489GLAHX-A3SQ or 489GLAHXA3SQ is a 489 Series power take-off assembly built for manual transmissions with an 8-bolt PTO mounting aperture, including Eaton/Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and Tremec applications. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the 8-bolt opening, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. Output is through a 1-1/4" round shaft with keyway. Intermittent torque capacity for the 489 Series is 201-300 lb-ft (301-400 Nm), with shaft power rated at 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. Shift is wire/cable mechanical. The 489 Series uses tapered bearings rather than needle bearings for improved load capacity, and internal parts are common to the Chelsea 442 Series.
