The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off, part number 489GRAHX-P3XQ or 489GRAHXP3XQ, is an 8-bolt PTO assembly engineered for manual transmissions including Eaton Fuller, Volvo, and Mack applications. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the 8-bolt transmission opening, eliminating the adapter plate and its associated leak paths. Intermittent torque capacity for this series is 250 lb-ft (339 Nm); shaft power output is 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. The output shaft is a 1-1/4" round with key configuration, and shift is accomplished via wire/cable mechanical actuation. Strong tapered bearings replace needle bearings for improved load capacity. Internal parts share commonality with the Chelsea 442 Series, simplifying service. Available in pressure-lube (P) or no-pressure-lube (X) configurations.
