The Chelsea 489XCITX-A3GJ or 489XCITXA3GJ is a 489 Series power take-off built for manual transmissions with an 8-bolt mounting aperture, including Eaton Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and Tremec applications. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the transmission opening without an adapter plate, eliminating an extra potential leak path. This unit uses a wire/cable mechanical shift and delivers up to 250 lb-ft intermittent torque, matching the capacity of the 442 Series. Output is through a 1-1/4" round shaft with key. Shaft power is rated at 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1000 RPM. The 489 Series uses tapered bearings instead of needle bearings for improved load-bearing capability, and internal parts are common to the 442 Series, simplifying parts inventory.
